Gdańsk is set to welcome a summer edition of Targi dla Zwierzaków, giving local dog and cat owners the chance to discover independent pet brands, specialist products and new ideas for their four-legged companions.
The event takes place on Saturday, 29 August, from 11:00 to 17:00 at Stacja Food Hall. Entry is free, and pets are welcome to join their owners at the fair.
Pet products beyond the usual high-street selection
Targi dla Zwierzaków is aimed at people looking for something a little different from the products typically found in large pet shops.
Visitors can expect a selection of Polish, international and niche brands, with exhibitors offering products that can be harder to find through mainstream retail.
The range is expected to include:
Pet food and treats
Toys
Harnesses and leads
Pet clothing
Beds
Everyday accessories
Supplements
There will also be opportunities to get advice relating to nutrition and pet care, making the fair useful both for experienced owners and anyone looking for better options for a newly adopted or recently welcomed pet.
A dog-friendly day out in Gdańsk
One of the most straightforward attractions is also one of the most practical: dogs and other pets are welcome at the event.
That means visitors do not necessarily have to leave their four-legged companions at home while exploring the stalls. For pet owners, it also provides an opportunity to see products in a real-world setting and discover accessories that may suit their animals better than something chosen from an online photograph.
With the event taking place at Stacja Food Hall, it also offers a chance to combine a browse around the fair with time spent in one of Gdańsk's food and social venues.
For Gdańsk residents with dogs or cats, the fair is a convenient opportunity to explore independent pet brands, pick up treats and accessories, and spend part of the weekend discovering something new for their animals.
Supporting independent pet brands
The appeal of the fair also lies in discovering products that are not necessarily available through the biggest retail chains. For smaller brands, events such as this provide a direct way to meet customers and introduce their products to a new audience.
The Gdańsk edition is part of the wider Targi dla Zwierzaków event series, which is visiting several Polish cities. The focus remains firmly on products and services for pets, particularly dogs and cats, while creating an informal setting where owners can meet brands and seek advice.
